Rehabilitation and Neural Engineering Laboratory

Golnaz Haddadshargh

  • Advisor: Dr. George Wittenberg

Golnaz is a PhD student in Bioengineering on the Neural Engineering track at the University of Pittsburgh. She graduated from Amirkabir University of Technology with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering in 2021. She learned about her interest in neural rehabilitation during her undergraduate studies. Her undergrad research focused on processing and decoding EMG signals for use in the Human-Computer interfaces to assist people with neurological impairments.

Research Interest Summary

Neural rehabilitation, Brain-Computer Interfaces, Motor Control, Neuroprosthetics, TMS, Neuroimaging

Research Interests

Golnaz is interested in studying neuroplasticity changes underlying neurological disorders like stroke using functional imaging and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Her goal is to rehabilitate people with neurological impairments using neurotechnologies like stimulation, neuroprosthetics and Brain-Computer interfaces.
