Lauren Malacarne is clinical research associate and physical therapist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehab.  She is a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist in physical therapy.  She graduated from Pitt's Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2014 and holds a position with UPMC Centers for Rehab Services in the neurologic/vestibular program.  Lauren's clinical experience includes neurovestibular rehabilitation, critical illness recovery, falls prevention, and orthopedic rehabilitation.  She also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Malacarne has research interests in the areas of activity monitoring, community engagement, and peer and caregiver support with a goal of improving quality of life, function, and independence for individuals after injury or illness.
