Dylan Beam

  • Advisor: Lee Fisher

Dylan Beam is a PhD student in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Biological Engineering from The Ohio State University. During his time at Ohio State, Dylan investigated the effects of the skull on the efficacy of transcranial Focused Ultrasound Surgery in treating Essential Tremor and Parkinsons Disease.

Research Interest Summary

Neuroprosthetics, sensorimotor integration, somatosensory feedback, neurorehabilitation, assistive technologies

Research Interests

Broadly, Dylan is interested in the research and development of neural rehabilitation technologies. These interests include improving sensory feedback technologies for neuroprosthetic technologies resulting in the creation of prostheses that provide helpful and realistic sensory feedback to the user.
